AIR-T Overview

The Artificial Intelligence Radio Transceiver (AIR-T) product line contains high-performance software defined radios (SDRs) seamlessly integrated with state-of-the-art processing and deep learning inference hardware. For this product line, we incorporate a graphics processing unit (GPU) to enable real-time wideband digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms to be executed in software. In addition, the GPU is the most utilized processor for deep machine learning, making the AIR-T an ideal radio for executing AI within a signal processing system. The product line significantly reduces the barrier for engineers to create autonomous signal identification, interference mitigation, and many other machine learning applications. By granting the deep learning algorithm full control over the transceiver system, the AIR-T allows for fully autonomous software defined and cognitive radio.

Out of the box, the AIR-T is a fully functioning SDR that includes numerous examples and open source APIs. The system includes AirStack, the AIR-T’s complete software package. AirStack consists of the Ubuntu-based operating system, radio drivers, FPGA firmware, GPU interfacing drivers, and everything required for AIR-T operation.

AIR-T Series Specification Comparison

The various AIR-T series and models are compared in Table 1 below. The AIR-T Embedded Series has been designed for usage in a commercial setting such as a laboratory, desktop, or server room. The AIR-T Edge Series expands the operational environment to be industrial grade and has significant improvements in terms of data storage, receiver sensitivity, and also includes a GNSS disciplined oscillator receiver.
